Casa BSing Condo Tour

February 9, 2020

Hello, world! Welcome to my first blogpost for 2020.

I know I’ve been on hiatus for quite some time now on this blog space as there were just too many things happening in my life the last few months- one of the biggest ones would be me moving to Singapore for work.

Now that I’ve finally settled down, let me share with you a happy project I’ve been busy working on: this cozy little space I call home here in SG- CASA BSING.

Choosing my home (away from home) was one of the biggest decisions I needed to make upon landing. Rental prices here are crazy expensive, especially if you live in the CBD area that’s why I needed to make a choice if I wanted to get a room in the city center or to get a more spacious condo but located a bit farther. Since this country is very small anyway and the transport system is very efficient, I decided to go with the latter. Afterall, I want to feel “at home” in this new city. Other factors I considered were:

  1. Rental price
  2. Do I get my own place or share it with a roommate?
  3. Distance from the office
  4. Access to public transportation
  5. Access to food, hospital, etc. in case of emergency

In the end, I decided to get a non-furnished unit which was a blessing in disguise since I got to put my love for interior design in action. To give you an idea, this was how the space looked like before I moved in.

And this is the finish product after doing home styling!

Welcome to my home! The unit is actually just a studio but it looks so much bigger due to the high ceilings + good source of light c/o the big windows. If you’re following me on Instagram, you would know how I’ve been addicted to plants these days. I didn’t know how powerful they were before until I started putting them in my place. They really made my unit more homey! I initially didn’t expect that I would be spending a lot of time at home due to work travels but surprisingly, I am now due to various reasons (ie: ankle injury, Chinese New Year holidays, and most recently, the virus outbreak.) I’m glad I spent time and effort designing my place to make it cozy that I don’t mind spending the whole weekend staying in 🙂Three of my favorite things displayed on my coffee table 🙂 Bonus that they all fit the color theme of my condo! If you noticed from the bare photos, this TV wall structure is actually a built-in one so I was worried the place would look weird if I didn’t get a television. I don’t know if I regret getting one now as I’ve been spending so much time binge-watching Netflix these days. Case in point: been crazy about Crash Landing On You recently that I couldn’t help but gush when this scene from Episode 11 matched my plants display so well!I’m glad there’s enough space for me to set up a working space as I spend a lot of time working.Oh, did I mention that the condo is actually a studio loft? This unique bed space is actually one of the reasons why I chose this layout over the other more “normal-looking” unit I first checked in the same building. I think this loft-bed added so much more character to this condo!Baby No. 7- Snake Plant. Tip if you want to start taking care of plants, you might want to start with this as it’s very low maintenance.Any home styling questions? Feel free to message me on Instagram! That’s it for my Casa BSing Tour for now.
