Coincidence Hub and Hostel Chiang Mai | Thailand

July 30, 2017

Watching Thailand’s Lantern Festival has long been part of my travel bucket list. However, it’s so hard to pre-plan for this event (as you all know- booking tickets months before your trip can save you a lot!) because the government announces the exact final date just a few weeks (or days) before the actual event.Good thing, they don’t leave us with 100% zero visibility. We know that it always happen in November. With this in mind, I chose some random departure and return dates and booked a ticket to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Imagine my happiness when I found out that the actual Yi Peng Festival falls within my travel dates! Anyway, for this trip, I wanted to stay right in the middle of the old city. This way, I’m close to all the cultural events happening all week-long in the town. While searching online, I came across this hostel and saw (from the comments sections of different travel sites) that it’s so well-loved by all their guests. Out of curiosity, I decided to book this as my accommodation for my Chiang Mai Trip.It was actually my first time to stay in a hostel by myself so I was excited and a bit nervous at the same time. This is the 2nd floor of the hostel- which serves as a common area where guests can chill,  hang, and meet co-travelers.Clean gray, cement, industrial interior? Sold! Free yummy breakfast for all guests! Now, let’s see how the rooms look like. The hostel offers different kinds of rooms- they even have private solo ones (like that of hotels). But since I already decided to stay in a hostel… might as well go all out and stay in a shared room!My bed for 3 nights! It was comfy and I even befriended my neighbor (as in the girl who slept beside my bed). Such a small world- she’s a Filipina too but grew up and lived her whole life in the States. My only worry was whenever I go home late and the person in the lower bunk was already sleeping, it was kind of hard to climb my way up without creating any noise at all. Good thing I never woke her up!I really enjoyed my stay in Coincidence. Not only was the interiors super aligned with my taste but the people (both the staff and my co-travelers) were so friendly and nice. What a fun sight! My co-hostel mate who’s a German hairstylist cutting the staff’s hair (while on FB live).
