Hoyumi Hotel | Taipei, Taiwan

April 8, 2019

Tucked in one of the quaint alleys of Zhong Shan District is this 6-month old hotel that has been the talk of the town since they opened.I met one of its owner- Matthew. Surprisingly, he’s not from Taipei but is a Hong Kong native and thought of partnering with 2 other friends to open this place to offer something really cool and unique to travelers and locals who want to fall in love with Taipei, just like how he did.A friendly reminder from the Hoyumi Team 😉All the artworks you see all over the hotel are hand painted and personally designed by collaborator artist Natali Hoyumi.Reception area upon entering…Let’s start the room tour from the basement. They allow guests to do washing + drying for free! Now, let’s move up to the 1st floor!Quaint cafe for guests to chill in at.They have 5 rooms all in all- Gold Sunset, Blazing Star, Jungle Vine, Purple Moss, and Moon Glow- each of which is uniquely designed by Natali.I stayed at the Gold Sunset room for this trip.I just knew from the hallway that my room was going to be really spacious!!!It was a room for 4, actually, perfect for families and friends traveling together.I think it’s cool how they were able to maximize the space and make it elegant at the same time. It’s always a struggle to find nice spacious hotels for families in urban places and this is such a breather!Bath area!I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to fit a bath tub in the room! Hoyumi artwork everywhere!I really love the painting design Natali has incorporated in their note cards!Explored other floors of the building and discovered this Air Garden on the 4th floor. And on the 5th floor is Still Water- a really nice resting area.Look at that splash of color everywhere!Never a dull corner in this hotel.
